Construction jobs rise 3% in area in year

Construction employment increased 3 percent in the Toledo area between June, 2011, and June, 2012, according to the Associated General Contractors of America. That ranked Toledo 97th among the 337 metro areas included in the data.

Sandusky had an 8 percent rise, second only to Akron in the state.

Statewide, Ohio experienced a 4 percent increase in construction employment, and Michigan fell 3 percent.
