Navy Band rocks downtown

Musician Third Class Pat Waters plays a guitar solo with the Navy Band during a lunch time performance Wednesday at Levis Square as part of Navy Week.

The downtown lunch crowd was treated to a noontime concert today by a rock band in sailor suits.

They were in fact sailors — members of the Chicago-based Navy Band Great Lakes — performing as part of the Navy Week activities.

“I think they’re great,” said Bonnie Smith of Perrysburg, who was there with her co-workers from a downtown law firm. “It’s a nice treat for the lunch hour.”
