District sets collection of hazardous waste

FREMONT -- The Ottawa Sandusky Seneca County Joint Solid Waste Management District will sponsor a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Those with last names beginning with A-M should come from 9 to 10:30 a.m., and those from N-Z, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

The drop-off sites are:

Ottawa County -- the county fairgrounds, 7870 West State Rt. 163, Oak Harbor;

Sandusky County -- the county fairgrounds, parking lot at 712 North St., Fremont;

Seneca County-- the Agriculture Service Center rear parking lot, 3140 South State Rt. 100, Tiffin.

Paint and related products such as varnish, wood stains, and strippers will be accepted, as well as mercury, automotive fluids, and household batteries.
