Extra lane and ramp closings will occur today and over the weekend on eastbound I-475 as traffic is shifted through the West Toledo construction zone, the Ohio Department of Transportation says.
Between 9 p.m. today and 6 a.m. Friday, westbound I-475 may be reduced to one lane for barrier wall relocation.
At 9 p.m. Friday, eastbound I-475 between Monroe Street to I-75 will be reduced to one lane through Sunday.
During the weekend, the ramp from eastbound I-475 to northbound I-75 will be closed, starting at midnight Friday and reopening sometime Sunday.
The pattern shift also will require a three-hour closing of the eastbound exit at ProMedica Parkway from 9 p.m. Friday through midnight Saturday, and closing of the eastbound entrance from Douglas Road starting at 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
When the shift is finished, traffic will use the freshly rebuilt and expanded right lanes. A similar shift will occur on the westbound side within two to four weeks, spokesman Theresa Pollick said.
