BOWLING GREEN — A mother and son from Perrysburg Township who had been indicted on felony kidnapping pleaded guilty to reduced charges Tuesday in Wood County Common Pleas Court.

Rosa Mary Zapata, 43, and Emiliano Zapata, 22, both pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of aggravated menacing and unlawful restraint for assaulting and abducting Emiliano’s former girlfriend at a Rossford apartment complex April 1.

Common Pleas Judge Robert Pollex sentenced the younger Zapata to six months in jail to be served at the same time as a 17-month prison sentence he currently is serving on unrelated drug charges. Judge Pollex placed Ms. Zapata on probation for a year and ordered her to undergo an anger-management assessment and any recommended treatment.
