Toledo-based Owens Corning reported Friday that a furnace installed at its Tlaxcala, Mexico, glass reinforcement facility is operational.

The Tlaxcala plant produces corrosion-resistant Advantex glass. The new furnace more than doubles production capacity at the facility. The company said the addition was part of its plan to meet growing global demand.
