9/20/2012
BLADE STAFF

Perrysburg Transit will begin temporary paratransit service for ADA-eligible customers in Perrysburg beginning Sunday, according to information provided by the city.

Riders may schedule service beginning Saturday by calling 419-872-8430 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Hours of transportation service will be:

• 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays

• 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays

• 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays

Current TARPS customers should use their TARTA-issued identification cards for Perrysburg Transit eligibility.

ADA Eligibility Applications will be available on the City of Perrysburg web site at www.ci.perrysburg.oh.us. Pending applicants will be allowed temporary usage of the service.

There will be no fees charged to utilize the service from Sept. 23 through Nov. 11.

Perrysburg City Council voted on Sept. 11 to contract with Ride Right LLC of St. Louis to transport riders with disabilities within the city when Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority service ends.

Service will continue through Nov. 11, with the hope that passage of a 1.45-mill, five-year levy on the Nov. 6 ballot will pay for the hiring of Ride Right to operate Perrysburg’s proposed transit system through the end of the year and through 2013.
