A Perrysburg Township man died of blunt force injuries when a large branch fell on his chest, said Dr. James Patrick, Lucas County coroner.

David Kellermeier, 63, was cutting down a tree Saturday on his property in the 26800 block of West River Road when the branch struck him, Dr. Patrick said.

He was taken by medical helicopter to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital, where he died at 6:43 p.m. Tuesday.

Dr. Patrick ruled the death accidental.

Mr. Kellermeier was an owner of Kellermeier Plumbing & Heating Inc. in Haskins, a business his father, Norman, started in 1962.
