A brother and sister were found dead Friday afternoon in their South Toledo home, police said.

There were no signs of foul play in their deaths, police said, although it was unclear Friday how they died. Officers said, however, that it did not appear to be a murder-suicide, and it did not appear that another person caused them to die.

An autopsy will have to be performed to determine the manner of their death.

Police were called at 3:37 p.m. to 4868 Ventura Dr. after another family member discovered the bodies.

Police did not release their names Friday evening, but said one of the deceased was 60, and the other 74; voting records appeared to show that the sister was the elder of the two.

Neighbors milled about outside the house while police and staff from the Lucas County Coroner's Office met on the lawn.

Neighbor Michael Hill said he has lived next door to the siblings for about 15 years and had noticed nothing suspicious until police showed up. He said the brother and sister were quiet people who didn't go outdoors very often.

Mr. Hill said he saw the brother about a week ago as he was getting the mail and they exchanged pleasantries, and nothing seemed amiss.
