Police seek information on East Toledo shooting

Toledo police are looking for information about the shooting of a man in East Toledo last month.

Houston Hines, 24, was shot in his left hip at 1:27 a.m. on Sept. 24 in the 700 block of Boles Drive, police said.

The victim reported he was outside to get fresh air when he was approached by two men who asked the victim's name. The victim answered, but he reportedly refused to speak more with the suspects.

One of the suspects fired at least six times at the victim, hitting him once, according to police reports.

The suspects fled, also firing at least one round into a home in the 1100 block of Sisson Avenue; authorities said no one inside the home was injured.

Both suspects are described in a Toledo police report as black, about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, and 160 pounds.
