A Fulton County woman was sentenced to 3½ years in prison this week for causing a fatal collision Jan. 1 in Providence Township that killed a Swanton man.

Candy Gillen, 42, of 10722 County Road 8, Pike Township, appeared Wednesday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court, where she was ordered to serve 42 months in prison. Judge Linda Jennings also suspended her driver’s license for 10 years.

Gillen previously had pleaded no contest in August to one count of aggravated vehicular homicide for the crash at Jeffers and Neapolis-Waterville roads in which Jeffery Brown, 49, died.
