The Toledo Area Humane Society is helping the Cleveland Animal Protective League by taking in some of almost 100 rabbits the Cleveland animal group rescued from a hoarding situation.

The APL’s humane investigations team was alerted to a home that had 92 rabbits in overcrowded and filthy rabbit hutches. All the animals were transferred to the Cleveland APL facility, where they received food, water, and medical care.

The Toledo Area Humane Society on Friday took four adult rabbits and an additional adult female with seven babies between two and three weeks old.

The four adult rabbits will be available for adoption today at a reduced fee of $10. The female rabbit and her seven babies will go into foster care until they are 12 weeks old. Anyone who has experience with rabbits and is interested in fostering should call 419-891-0705, ext. 305, or go to foster@toledoareahumanesociety.org.
