Coast Guard vessels were on the Maumee River at the CSX railroad bridge at the Oregon-Toledo line in an effort to keep vessels away from the area today after a downed power line fell into the river, authorities said.

There were no reported injuries.

The vessels were expected to arrive at the scene within minutes, a Coast Guard dispatcher said about 7:35 a.m.

A Toledo Edison spokesman said a downed power line caused about 6,600 utility customers to lose power, mainly in the Point Place, about 5:25 a.m. Power was restored all customers by 8:14 a.m.

The company is still investigating what caused the power line to go down.
