It’s the Year of the Dragon, and the circus is in town.
That combination resulted in a special show this morning for local families with strong ties to China.
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey put on a performance at the Huntington Center for about 40 local children, many of whom were born in China.

The show featured clowns, jugglers and nods to Chinese culture.
“I think it’s wonderful for them to have a link back to China,” said Laura Brewster, of Grand Rapids, who brought her two biological children and two children adopted from China to the event.
The circus continues at 7 p.m. today. Shows also run Saturday at 11 a.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
