Traffic-pattern shifting in the I-475 work zone in West Toledo will require additional lane and ramp closings today and Saturday, and Upton Avenue will be closed for 11 days starting Saturday, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced.

The work to move traffic onto the rebuilt right lanes will start at noon today. From then until noon Saturday, the ProMedica Parkway entrance to westbound I-475 will be intermittently closed, and after 7 p.m. today the Douglas Road exit also might be closed temporarily.

From 11 p.m. today through midnight Saturday, westbound I-475 may be restricted to a single lane through the work zone. For the first 12 hours of that period, the two ramps from I-75 will be closed one after the other, starting with the southbound I-75 exit. Traffic will be detoured to Detroit Avenue and then, for the northbound I-75 exit, to Phillips Avenue.

Traffic will be detoured to Jackman Road while Upton is closed at I-475 from Saturday through Nov. 12 for I-475 bridge demolition. Pedestrian traffic will be allowed on weekdays from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. to accommodate schoolchildren.
