FOSTORIA — DARE is returning to Fostoria City Schools, thanks to a $1,000 donation from the Fostoria Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Drug Abuse Resistance Education program was dropped in 2007 when a local police officer who led the program retired.
The chamber money will be used to buy the workbooks and supplies. Patrolman Travis Ricker, who works as a school resource officer in the elementary and middle schools, recently underwent two weeks of training to begin teaching the DARE classes.
