Maumee council terminates finance director
11/5/2012Maumee City Council tonight terminated finance director Linda Wilker, citing her inability to work with others city officials.
Mayor Richard Carr said council voted 6-1 to fire Ms. Wilker, stating that she could not work effectively with some council members, including those who chaired the finance and personnel committees. Councilman John Boellner voted against the termination.
"We did not find we could go forward with her working there," Mr. Carr said, adding there were several incidents that led up to the termination.
He declined to comment on any of the incidents.
Ms. Wilker also served as the city's human resources commissioner and municipal clerk. Several current employees have been moved into her roles in the interim until a replacement can be found, Mr. Carr said.
