Toledo Zoo getting ready for the Lights Before Christmas

11/9/2012

Toledo Zoo employees Keely Arnold of Dundee, Mich., left, and Michelle Aldrich of Gibsonburg, Ohio, create “Tiger Drinking,” one of more than 200 illuminated animals in the zoo’s annual Lights Before Christmas.

Zoo employees put up more than one million lights for the annual event at the zoo in Toledo. The opening weekend starts Nov. 16, when the 35,000 lights on the 85-foot Norway Spruce, and all of the other lights will be lit. Masterworks Chorale will also be singing holiday songs at the tree-lighting ceremony.

If strung out from the zoo, the lights would pass the Indiana border.
