Crash near Napoleon on State Rt. 108 kills 2

NAPOLEON -- Authorities today identified Terry Smiddy and James Sonnenberg as the two Napoleon men who were killed early Sunday in a crash on State Rt. 108 near the city.

Mr. Smiddy, 55, and Mr. Sonnenberg, 43, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Henry County Sheriff's Office.

The victims were traveling in a car about 12:01 a.m. when the vehicle crashed, throwing both men on the road, sheriff's deputies said. One of the men was the driver, but it wasn't clear who, deputies said.

No additional information was available. Details on the crash were expected to be released later today, according to the sheriff's office.

Napoleon is about 40 miles southwest of Toledo.
