Tractor trailer fire closes eastbound portion of Ohio Turnpike in Toledo

SWANTON - The eastbound lanes of the Ohio Turnpike are closed between the Delta-Lyons exit and the Toledo Express exit because of a tractor trailer fire, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

The Swanton Fire Department was called to the scene about 6:45 p.m. after the rig was reported on fire. Dispatchers said there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown.

Authorities said the turnpike will reopen as soon as the fire department leaves the scene and gives approval for the roadway to reopen.
