Helping Hands of St. Louis and DeSales Outreach Centers are asking for help to provide turkeys and hams for holiday meals to those in need.

Both organizations pass out food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Helping Hands of St. Louis needs 50 frozen turkeys by Friday and an additional 200 frozen turkeys, 200 hams, 250 boxes of mashed potatoes, and canned or fresh fruit by Dec. 14. St. Francis de Sales Outreach Center needs 100 frozen turkeys by Thursday and 100 frozen hams by Dec. 13.

“If we didn’t have it to give out, there would be a lot of people who would go without,” said Paul Cook, Helping Hands director. “The need is getting greater and greater.”

Donations for both outreach centers may be delivered to Helping Hands of St. Louis at 443 Sixth St., Toledo, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. To schedule a delivery for a different time, call Director Paul Cook at 419-691-0613, ext. 2.
