Oregon selects contractor for bikeway

Oregon City Council has accepted the bid of Eclipse Co. LLC of Warrensville, Ohio, to be the contractor for Phase II of the Stadium Road Bikeway. Eclipse submitted the lowest price, $479,075.86. The next lowest bid was submitted by Gerken Paving Inc., at $513,204.15.

Oregon has received a Transportation Enhancement Grant from the Federal Highway Administration equal to 80 percent of construction costs, up to a maximum of $440,000 for the project.

In other action, council approved the purchase of less than an acre at 4926 Bayshore Rd. for the Oregon Flood Relief and Erosion Control Project. The price is $32,780 to be paid to owners Patrick and PhylissLesniewski, plus $2,000 for the removal of personal property.

Council also authorized a three-year contract with Advance Cleaning Contractors Inc. for janitorial services. The firm will be paid $45,590.60 in year one, $46,712.24, the second year, and $47,871.92 the third year.
