United Way unit hires chief executive

FINDLAY — The executive director of the Hancock County Agency on Aging has been hired as the president and chief executive officer of United Way of Hancock County.

Effective Jan. 3, John Urbanski takes the place of Keith DuVernay, who has taken a job as CEO of SOS Children’s Village of Florida. A welcome reception is set for 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Findlay Country Club.

Mr. Urbanski, an ex- Findlay city councilman, was founder and president of the Rocking U Restaurant and Urbanski Catering for 29 years.

With the Agency on Aging, he led a capital campaign that raised $1.13 million in 2010 and oversaw passage of a senior service tax levy in 2011.
