FOSTORIA -- Two women were hospitalized after a single-vehicle crash Monday night in Seneca County's Big Springs Township.

Rose Hare, 89, of Upper Sandusky, is listed in serious condition at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo; Marian Reinhart, 82, of Alvada, Ohio, is listed in fair condition, a hospital spokesman said.

Troopers from the Fremont post of the Highway Patrol reported that Mrs. Reinhart was driving eastbound on Township Road 56, just west of U.S. 23, when her vehicle went off the north side of the road and struck a culvert, overturned, and stopped on its side at 5:50 p.m.

Mrs. Hare was a passenger in the vehicle.

Both were taken to the Toledo hospital by air ambulance.

Troopers said they are not sure why Mrs. Reinhart's vehicle went off the road.

Big Springs Township is about 50 miles south of Toledo.
