4-vehicle crash slows expressway traffic
One person is confirmed dead
12/5/2012Police have identified the person who was struck and killed today on I-75 in North Toledo.
Salvador Garcia, of Grand Rapids, Ohio, was struck by a van and killed as he stood off the roadway beside his own vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, said Toledo police Sgt. Joe Heffernan.
Mr. Garcia was outside his pickup about 10:55 a.m. on northbound I-75 near Stickney Avenue and was hit by a van driven by James Bedford of Toledo, Sergeant Heffernan said. Their ages were not available.
The crash slowed traffic for more than an hour.
