State investigators said Tuesday that a large chunk of limestone that struck a Toledo driver’s vehicle as it crossed Veterans’ Glass City Skyway the night before did not originate from the bridge.

The bridge is made of concrete, Theresa Pollick, a spokesman for the Ohio Department of Transportation said on Tuesday.

“It didn’t come from the Skyway,” Ms. Pollick said. “It wasn’t concrete from the bridge.”

According to a Toledo Police Department report, Toledo resident Jodi Harris was driving south on the bridge when an object “smashed through her windshield” and landed in her lap.

Ms. Harris suffered minor cuts but did not require medical treatment.

The incident was reported at 8:09 p.m. Monday.

ODOT officials say they don’t know the source of the limestone.
