Fee increases proposed for county dog pound

Lucas County commissioners will hold a hearing Thursday at 11 a.m. to take public comment about proposed fee increases at the Lucas County dog pound.

A final list of the proposed increases was unavailable Tuesday, but will include an increase in the $50 dog adoption fee.

The county is conducting a cost analysis which will be shared at the hearing. Other increases include the fees for daily impound, currently at $1.50, day, and mailings telling owners their dogs are at the pound.
