To help more pets find homes for the holidays, the Toledo Area Humane Society is reducing adoption prices throughout the shelter for the rest of December.

Adoption fees for dogs that have been waiting at the Maumee shelter the longest will be reduced to $25. All other dogs older than 6 months old will have adoption fees reduced by $25.

Adoption fees for all adult cats are reduced to $25, and $50 for all kittens.

Adoption fees for pocket pets are reduced to $2.50.

In return, TAHS is asking that adopters bring in a gift from the group’s wish list, such as canned dog and cat food, new or gently used blankets and towels, dog and cat treats, non-clumping cat litter, and gas cards for cruelty officers.

The group is also looking for foster volunteers over the holidays for animals that have not been adopted. The group won’t know until closer to Christmas which animals will be available, but currently is collecting names of willing volunteers.

Those interested in fostering an animal on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day should contact the TAHS foster coordinator at foster@toledoareahumanesociety.org.
