Whitehouse is making plans for events featuring sleds and snowballs.

The village will to host to the Whitehouse Winterfest on Feb. 9.

Several changes have been made in the annual event.

As the kickoff, the parade will start at 10:30 a.m. in the downtown area and will end at the Whitehouse library.

Sledders can participate in the parade before heading off to the sledding hill for the popular downhill races.

Businesses, civic groups, churches, schools, and others are invited to participate in the parade and sled races.

Additional events include snowman-building and snowball- throwing contests, ice sculptures, horse and carriage rides, live music by the Wanna Bees, a petting zoo, and chili cook-off. The village also has added a Winterfest Snow “Ball” Dance at the Whitehouse American Legion that evening along with a Kids Snow “Ball” party at the Anthony Wayne Preschool in Whitehouse. Children can take part in a fun-filled evening while parents attend the dance.
