BOWLING GREEN – Wood County government employees are to receive 1.5 percent raises for the new year.

County commissioners this morning approved 2013 appropriations that include a $37.3 million general fund and a raise for non-union workers. Commissioners said sales tax receipts are up more than 5 percent over last year, although investment income remains low.

“While some reductions and deletions were necessary to keep overall appropriations in line with anticipated revenues, all offices and departments will be able to provide continued core services and good customer service to the citizens of Wood County,” the board said in a letter to county officials.
