Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center director named to History Fund panel

Christie Weininger, executive director of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center in Fremont, is one of 15 Ohioans named to a panel that will decide how to award more than $100,000 for local and state history projects.

The money comes from Ohio taxpayers who opt to “check off” and contribute to the History Fund on their state income tax form. The History Fund, which began operating in tax year 2011, received 64 applications for $891,000 in grant requests. Grant recipients are to be announced on Statehood Day, Feb. 27.
