PORT CLINTON -- Two men were injured when an oncoming pickup truck lost control on an icy road and struck their pickup head-on in Ottawa County's Danbury Township.

Jacob Burns, 22, of Marblehead was westbound on East Bayshore Road near State Rt. 269 about 5:40 p.m. Friday when his pickup slid left of center and collided with the pickup driven by Thomas Tanner, 66, also of Marblehead, troopers at the Ohio Highway Patrol's Sandusky post said.

Mr. Tanner was taken by medical helicopter to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo with serious injuries, troopers said. He was admitted, but his condition was unavailable late Friday. His passenger, Robert Wisniewski, 79, was taken to Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton with minor injuries, troopers said.

Mr. Wisniewski had been in a separate crash several hours earlier in Danbury Township and was on his way home from the hospital, troopers said.

Mr. Burns was not injured. He was cited for driving left of center.
