Winter Tri-Adventure Race enters 2nd year

The second annual Oak Openings Winter Tri-Adventure Race is to start at 8 a.m. Jan. 26 at the Metropark on State Rt. 295 north of State Rt. 64 between Whitehouse and Swanton.

The event, sponsored by the Naturalist Scouts, includes cross-country skiing, toboggan pulling, and orienteering, which is hiking through a course by map and compass.

Awards are to be given in six classes, ranging from youth to senior adults and combination teams. Entry fee is $25 for age 25 and up, $15 for 21-24, $10 for 16-20, and $5 for 15 and younger. Check-in starts at 7 a.m. the day of the event at the White Oak Picnic area on Oak Openings Parkway.

Proceeds support the Naturalist Scouts program for boys 11 to 15 years old.
