Holiday alters government schedules

City, state, federal offices to close across Ohio

City, state, and federal offices will be closed Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King holiday, as will Lucas County offices and many offices in neighboring counties. Sylvania, Perrysburg, Maumee, Oregon, and Rossford city offices will be closed, as will Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles deputy registrar sites statewide.

A list of select businesses and services follows:

Schools

Public and parochial schools and area colleges and universities will have no classes.

Public utilities

Toledo Department of Public Utilities will be closed. Toledo Edison and its parent company, FirstEnergy, will be open, as will Columbia Gas.

Libraries

The Toledo-Lucas County Pubic Library and its branches will be closed.

Retail centers

Westfield Franklin Park, Levis Commons, and Fallen Timbers will be open regular hours.

Mail service

Post office will be closed and mailed will not be deliver.

Trash pickup

There will be regular trash collection in Toledo. Collection service in other communities vary.

Bus services

Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority buses will operate on regular weekday schedules.

Meter parking

Downtown Toledo meter parking will be free.
