Only minor accidents reported on rain-slickened roads

The overnight freezing rain advisory has been lifted, with most of the greater Toledo area escaping major damage, authorities said today.

There were no major crashes as most drivers slowed down on rain-slickened roads, area law enforcement officers said. They reported a flurry of slide-offs and fender benders across the area, with only minor injuries.

Currently, as of about 8 a.m., there is light snow and fog with mist, 89 percent humidity, and visibility of 1.75 miles, according to the National Weather Service. There is a 50 percent chance of snow today, with a high of 33 degrees.
