Toledoan Charles Fasnaugh chooses a book at the Main Toledo-Lucas County Public Library downtown Monday, the first day of its extended hours. The Main Library and the Heatherdowns, Oregon, Sanger, and Sylvania branches now are open from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The expanded hours follow voter approval in November of a 2.9-mill levy to support the library system after decreased tax funding had forced a cutback in hours. More in-formation, including hours for all branches, are available at toledolibrary.org.
