West Sylvania Avenue between McCord and Lancelot roads reopened about 12:30 a.m. today after a natural gas leak was found at West Sylvania Avenue and Robinhood Lane.

Columbia Gas was replacing about 100 feet of the line and crews continued to work to repair it late Wednesday evening. The cause of the leak in the 2-inch bare-steel line was age, said Chris Kozak, a Columbia Gas spokesman. The pipe was installed in 1966.

The utility company found the leak, which was suspected Tuesday evening after a call came in about 5:04 p.m.
