Conservancy to propose transfer of lighthouse

3/13/2013

PORT CLINTON — The Port Clinton Lighthouse Conservancy, a local advocacy group, will present its proposal to transfer a historical lighthouse to the city during a public forum from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the Ida Rupp Public Library in Port Clinton.

The conservancy has been in talks with the city and a Medina, Ohio, developer, Mike Rose, to flesh out details of the proposed transfer. A sticking point has been the owner’s insistence that the lighthouse be placed on the waterfront, as well as a permanent ban on selling, moving or altering the structure.
