Icy conditions today contributed to several accidents on highways in the Toledo area, including one injury crash near Maumee.

At least one person was hurt in a two-vehicle accident early today on westbound I-475 near northbound U.S. 23, the Ohio Highway Patrol said. That 5:30 a.m. crash involved a tractor trailer and another vehicle. The driver of the truck, whose identity was not available, was transported to an undisclosed hospital.

Traffic on U.S. 23 was slowed while crew moved the two vehicles from the highway, troopers said.

Toledo police responded to at least six minor accidents on I-75 during rush hour between the Michigan border and I-475, officers said. Traffic had slowed to a crawl in several sections of the highway.
