Closing of U.S. 223 ramp postponed

3/14/2013

OTTAWA LAKE, Mich. — A scheduled closing of the U.S. 223 entrance to southbound U.S. 23 has been postponed indefinitely, but other work on U.S. 23 in the area continues, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced.

The ramp had been scheduled to close Wednesday for 14 days of repairs. MDOT’s contractor will continue to do preliminary work near the interchange until the closing is rescheduled, MDOT said.

One lane is open each way between Sterns Road and U.S. 223 while crews rebuild the northbound lanes through that zone. That phase of work is expected to last until late May.
