Teen’s body buried for 3rd time after autopsy

CASTALIA, Ohio —The family of a Castalia teenager buried his body for the third time Thursday, after the Lucas County Coroner’s Office released the body following an autopsy.

Jacob Limberios, 19, died in 2012 of a gunshot wound to the head. The Sandusky County coroner ruled the death a suicide. No autopsy was done until the family arranged for one by a Pittsburgh pathologist, who determined the death was a homicide.

Earlier this month, the body was disinterred for a second time — against the family’s wishes — and an autopsy was performed by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office, which finished its examination and released the body Thursday, said Dean Henry, a special prosecutor in the criminal investigation.

Mr. Limberios is buried in Castalia Cemetery.

Mr. Henry didn’t detail findings from the recent autopsy. He said a report will not be completed until tissue in the Pittsburgh pathologist’s possession is analyzed by the coroner’s office. Several samples were taken during the first autopsy, and the coroner’s office has examined some tissue, Mr. Henry said.
