The Toledo Area Humane Society is hosting its annual Bark in the Park — Walk for the Animals on Sunday at Arrowhead Park in Maumee.

Walkers are invited to raise pledges to support homeless animals before making the 1.5-mile trek. Day-of event registration begins at 10 a.m. with the walk kicking off at 11 a.m. Every person who raises $25 or more receives a commemorative event T-shirt. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash. After the walk, the event will include an afternoon of activities including a pet photo booth, music, and food.

Supporters can go online at www.toledoareahumanesociety.org and create their own Bark in the Park walk Web site. The event has been held for more than 20 years and last year raised more than $26,000, said Cyndi Condi, the humane society’s marketing and special events manager.
