SANDUSKY — An autopsy performed on 11-week-old Athena Castile did not say how often the baby was stabbed.

A spokesman for Erie County Coroner Brian Baxter said Tuesday the infant died of sharp-force trauma inflicted by another person.

Sandusky police have said the infant was stabbed Thursday night, allegedly by her second cousin, Denzel Castile, 19, of Sandusky. He is in the Erie County jail, charged with aggravated murder, in lieu of $1.025 million bond

The autopsy report listed the manner of death as “pending.”
