A 10-day closing of the I-475 ramps at Secor Road that was to have started Tuesday has now been postponed because of this week's rain, a city official announced today.

The rain has kept the city contractor rebuilding Secor between Monroe Street and Central Avenue from completing the current phase of work -- street reconstruction between Queenswood Boulevard and Central -- by the timeline of Monday as previously planned, said Steve Hamilton, the city's project liaison.

The ramps are to be closed during the next phase, when Secor is rebuilt at and between the ramp intersections at I-475.

Additional rain forecast this weekend is likely to cause further delay, Mr. Hamilton said, so a new start date for the ramp closings has not been determined.
