Crews work to repair a portion of northbound I-75 in North Toledo this afternoon after a crash early today just south of Ottawa River Road. Long traffic back-ups continue as crews work on two out of the three lanes.

Two of three lanes will remain closed on northbound I-75 near the Ottawa River Road exit until at least Thursday morning because of pavement damage from a two-truck collision early today, the Ohio Department of Transportation has announced.

Only the left lane is open past the scene where two tractor-trailers collided at 12:16 a.m., sparking a fire.

ODOT spokesman Theresa Pollick said the agency is mobilizing equipment to repair "significant damage from the fire" as quickly as possible.

Ms. Pollick urged motorists to avoid the area and use northbound U.S. 23 to travel into Michigan. Message boards have been placed on northbound I-75 in Wood County to alert drivers about the problem and recommended detour.
