The 37th annual Community Days event is scheduled for July 19 and 20 in downtown Petersburg.

The beer tent opens at 6 p.m. on July 19. The evening will feature a disc jockey, a firefighters’ bean-bag toss tournament, and free inflatables for children.

On Saturday, the Rose Run 5K run/walk begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Kids’ Fun Run at 9:45 and awards at 10. The beer tent opens at noon, and a silent auction will be at 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Monroe Bank and Trust branch. Live music will be provided by Undyin’ Era.

Petersburg native Jessica Cribbs started the Rose Run in honor of her mother, Rose Marie Hunt, who died of breast cancer in January, 2009. All proceeds are donated to the University of Michigan Cancer Care Center and the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department.
