Volunteers of America groups combine locally
7/4/2013Volunteers of America of Northwest Ohio and Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio have combined operations, effective immediately.
The partnership will keep the Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio name, and the office on North Summit Street in Toledo will remain open. The merger will not result in layoffs, communications director Kathryn Lecklider said.
The decision to consolidate was made after unanimous votes from each organization’s board.
Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio serves more than 34,000 people a year, by providing services such as long and short-term care for the homeand educational programming for students.
