Northbound lanes on Detroit Avenue near Bancroft Street reopened today after the street caved in at the intersection Wednesday afternoon due to a sinkhole.

Southbound lanes on the street remain closed as crews continue to work on repairs to the sewer and a six-inch water line. The eastbound curb lane and westbound turn lane on Bancroft are also closed, but all other lanes are open to traffic.

Water and sewer repairs are expected to be complete early next week. Pavement restoration is expected to be complete by late next week.

Water service was temporarily disconnected to about 25 customers after the cave-in but restored later on Wednesday. Those customers remain on a boil advisory. City crews have not established a time the advisory will expire.
