A cleanup of spilled diesel fuel left an eastbound lane of the Ohio Turnpike closed in Lake Township late Thursday, hours after a steel coil fell from a tractor-trailer that overturned and punctured an adjacent rig's fuel tank.
The steel hauler was unable to negotiate a curve at the I-280 entrance to the turnpike about 6:40 p.m., troopers at the Ohio Highway Patrol's Swanton post said.
The incident closed the eastbound lanes entirely for nearly 90 minutes. No life-threatening injuries were reported.
