Berlin Heights man dies in collision with deer

BERLIN HEIGHTS, Ohio — A Berlin Heights man was killed Thursday when the motorcycle he was driving struck a deer on Mason Road near Edison Woods Reserve northeast of Berlin Heights in Erie County, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Dale Brundage, 62, who was thrown from the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene in Berlin Township, according to the patrol's Sandusky post. Troopers said he was not wearing a helmet.

Mr. Brundage was westbound on Mason just east of Frailey Road about 1:25 a.m. when the collision occurred, the patrol said. A deer was not found at the scene, but deer fur was found on the motorcycle, the report said.

Berlin Heights is about 70 miles east of Toledo.
